As of June 30, the former Queenstown Lakes District regulatory and planning company, CivicCorp, will operate under a new name, chairman Tony Hill said.
"I am absolutely delighted to announce that our new community-owned company has a new name and a new logo. From the end of the month it will be known as Lakes Environmental,"' Mr Hill said.
A lot of thought and discussion had gone into the new name, which in the end came down to some simple requirements.
"The name needed to reflect the district-wide planning and regulatory service delivery, which is all about our environment, and the logo needed to reflect the new company's close affiliation to the council and the community," Mr Hill said.
The no-nonsense, no-frills logo was very much in keeping with the new not-for-profit profile of the new company.
"It's clear, clean and professional and both the board and the team are looking forward to taking ownership of the new branding," Mr Hill said.
It was planned to change over to Lakes Environmental as soon as possible, including signage, livery and letterhead.
From June 30, new email addresses would see ‘civiccorp' change to ‘lakesenv' although emails to the old address would still get through for now, the website address would also change to www.lakesenviromental.co.nz
"The launch of the new name is a real milestone for the new company, the community and the council," Mr Hill said.
