The Cadbury Moro Slopestyle series for freestylers has been postponed until Monday, July 30 at The Remarkables.
Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator says a forecast for snow at The Remarkables tomorrow and possible poor visibility resulted in the decision to postpone the event.
"We're looking for a super fine weather event to kick it off, and at this stage it doesn't look like we'll get a classic bluebird day tomorrow so we're going to give it a go next Monday."
A cash and product prize pool valued at around $3000 is on offer for each of the four events of the series and competitors can expect the UP & GO Terrain Park to be in excellent condition.
The Cadbury Moro Slopestyle series is a level two qualifying event for the New Zealand Snowboard Association National Championships to take place in September.
For those entering Monday's competition, there is a $25 entry fee and a $20 fully refundable bib deposit.
Registration takes place on the day at The Remarkables terrain park office between 9:00am – 10:30am with the competition kicking off at 11:30am.
Prizegiving will take place at The Buffalo Club at 8:00pm.
