The magnificent setting of Queenstown's Millbrook resort will be the perfect backdrop for a one-off international cabaret evening at the five-star property next week.
Australia's leading jazz vocalist Vince Jones, a veteran of 12 successful albums and renowned for his expressive voice and legendary trumpet playing, will perform at The Pavilion at Millbrook on Wednesday October 17.
The unique cabaret evening will also feature laid-back entertainer and sharp wit Gary McCormick as MC.
The evening includes a glass of wine on arrival, a three course dinner prepared by Millbrook Executive Chef Rob Hope, and the live show. Guests will be treated to a stunning antipasto platter on arrival, a choice of main courses and a selection of desserts.
Jones is performing with his own band and a grand piano is being brought in just for the night. He draws on such diverse influences as Afro-American blues and the melodies of Celtic folk, bringing passion and feeling to his music.
Millbrook general manager Jan Hunt said the evening would be one of world class entertainment in a world class setting.
"We're absolutely delighted to have a musician of Vince's calibre and with his well-deserved reputation come and play at Millbrook, and we're really looking forward to a memorable night," she said.
Millbrook has put together a special jazz package for couples, based on two people sharing two nights in a Village Inn room, two tickets to the cabaret, one round of golf for two people (green fees only), a half hour massage at Millbrook's renowned spa, and a bottle of wine in the room on arrival. The package costs $999 for two.
The package is subject to availability, is not valid in conjunction with any other offer, and is valid until October 22 2007. Tickets to the event, part of the ASB JazzFest, are $140 a head and are available from Ticket Direct, Queenstown's i-Site centre and the jazz festival website www.asbjazzfest.co.nz.
