Winterfestival Jazz Night Soars to new Heights

The American Express Queenstown Winter Festival 2008 once again delivers an amazing line-up of entertainment.

On Saturday night music lovers were hard pressed to choose between the Jazz Night at the Skyline Gondola or the live show at the Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion where the Queenstown Airport presented Jennifer Ward-Lealand 'Falling in Love Again' the Marlene Dietrich tribute.

Those lucky enough to have purchased tickets to 'Falling in Love Again' were treated to an absolutely outstanding performance by Jennifer.

She captivated the audience holding them spellbound to the last note, as they soaked up the magical ambience of the Kawarau Falls Station Pavilion.

Meanwhile over 900 people made their way up the to the newly renovated Skyline Gondola Restaurant where 6 bands performed on three seperate stages at the American Express Jazz Night. Entertainment kicked off before they even loaded onto the gondolas with Ward and Tutheridge keeping everyone in high Festival sprits.

Once at the top people gravitated from room to room catching the strains of Tahuna Breaks, L'Ocean and the Anna Whitaker band.

The atmosphere was electric as Hollie Smith and her band took to the stage proving to the audience what an amazing talent she is, putting in a stylish performance that just left everyone wanting more.

From the moment Katchafire launched into their set the crowd's energy amped up and everyone grooved to the beats with it impossible to stand still everyone danced the rest of the night away.
