Skiers and riders can now travel from Queenstown to The Remarkables more quickly and comfortably on the new shuttle service, The Remarkables Express.
The Remarkables Ski Area has invested in three brand new 4x4 buses to offer a superior journey from downtown Queenstown to the slopes of the alpine park.
Leaving from the Station Building in Queenstown, the service stops only once to collect customers at the bottom of the access road ensuring a fast journey to the base lodge.
Ski Area Manager Ross Lawrence said the buses were unique as they had been specially designed for The Remarkables.
"The high powered 4WD chassis's combined with new engine technology means they can handle our mountainous roads with ease making it a more comfortable journey for passengers," he said.
"They've also been designed so that passengers can off load their equipment effortlessly," he added.
The buses depart the Station Building daily at 8.15, 8.45, 9.15 and 10.15 and stop at the bottom of The Remarkables access road at 8.35, 9.05, 9.35 and 10.35. They return to Queenstown at 2.30, 3.30 and 4.30.
A return trip costs $20 for an adult and $15 for a youth or child, with pre-booking recommended through the Queenstown Snow Centre.
A day lift and transport special is on offer during the school holidays only and runs until 20 July 2008. These passes cost $99 for an adult and $59 for a youth or child.
