Slung over the steep mountains in the Mt Aspiring national park you'll find Rob Roy's glacier greeting you with grandeur.
From Raspberry Creek carpark, a 15 minute valley walk brings you gently to the foot of the ascent through the entry of a long swing bridge.
From here, the walk gradually climbs alongside a powerful gorge linked with waterfalls and proud rock cliffs. Blue glacier water forms the walks soundtrack, with the exception of New Zealand bird song.
The 10km walk (3-4 hours) breaks from the heavy native forestry and brings exceptional views of the glacier. Whether in rain or sun, this track will provide you with a raw insight to New Zealand landscape.
