Greetings,

I'm coming to visit Queenstown in June. Not much of a winter sports type but I do enjoy hiking.

Wanted to see what everyone thinks is the best place to meet the locals and have a drink, as well as any other advice you can give some poor traveler from across the sea.


I have been excited to visit Queenstown for years now, enjoying this website and the forums, learning about this great town. From what I have been reading my town and yours have very similar issues... my town's population quadruples during the summer when all the New Yorkers and Philadelphians come visit for the beaches.. so I know how much of a pain "tourists" can be.

Hi Joe,

You can try places like the Dux de Lux, Barup, or on Friday arvo's, try The Pig and Whistle, and the Brazz as they attract the after work crowds.
