Where are all the good 'ol flats. 2008/01/09 15:04 Karma: 1
I remember living here 10 years ago. There used to be good old houses and flats. A little bit older, but great places to party and make a mess.

Also used to live on one called the "Hotel Brunswick". It was one of the last. Anyone know of any still around? Most are now being bowled down to make way for $$$$$ apartments.

Sad. Sad. Life

I live in one.! Although, I'm not going to tell you where it is. :-p But I've heard some stories about the past goings on in it.

I know natedog has one, it's been round the block a few times. There are a few out there, you've just got to know people who know people, which I assume you do as you were here 10 years ago.

Alternatively of course, you can just go flatmates wanted and move in with someone who already has one, then stink them out.

I do know where some of those good old flats have gone to.. heres some examples of old flats I've lived in.
14 Church St (Now Dux de Lux)
20 Man St (Now Car park building)
Corner Stanley St/Shotover (Now Southland Building Society)
Earl St (Novotel Gardens)
26A Man St (It's still there!!!)
Upper Brunswick St you might have called it Hotel Brunswick (Big empty section with car wrecks)
Corner Gorge Road/Sawmill Rd (GWD Russels Toyota Dealer)
Morries Rd (The Club)
I have fond memories of Jean Malpas (landlords agent) telling us off when Nearly Normal Neil (got a smoke?) painted "get a wee dog up ya" and "Nuclear Warrior headquarters" on the side of our house at 26A Man St. Ah those were the days.

My flat is so 'ol that my parents used to party in it back in the day. They are out there, you just gotta look. Its more than likely they are full so just take a number and wait for the good time to roll on.

Chalk me up for 'The Ham', Hotel de Brunswick, the Hallenstein St Hilton, to name just a few...
