Missing pair 'safe and sound'

Two British tourists walked out "safe and sound" after becoming lost on Ben Lomond, above Queenstown, last night. Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin, said a search and rescue party had been organised about 9.30pm.

The tourists contacted police by cellphone and were able to walk out to Arthurs Point, where they were met by search and rescue staff walking in about 10.30pm. They were then driven back to Queenstown.
