Winter 2006 for Queenstown has been a resounding success. With above average snowfalls and tourist numbers climbing significantly from last winter, both residents and tourists will recount the 2006 winter as a season to remember.

Last month, contractors hired by the council, chopped down and removed several aging pine trees along the western edge of the Queenstown Gardens. The reason for their removal was based around the trees being potentially dangerous, in addition to stifling the growth of other neighbouring exotic trees. To the casual observer, the missing trees are glaringly obvious, and to the frisbee golfer, it's a godsend.
