Skippers Canyon Jet

Electioneering is continuing in the region as I write this, so if you haven't already, please make sure you are eligible to vote, and try to do so, as there are only 10 days left. We also say bye to Coronet Peak as a skifield for 2007 as the snow continues to fall at the Remarkables, who close this weekend. And lastly, the team at Queenstown.com were invited over into the majestic Skippers Canyon to go jetboating.

Nate vs Shotover Canyon Swing

In what's shaping up to be the most boring of elections since the last one where Mayor Clive was re-elected unchallenged, I'm left with a feeling that I may be too young to be campaigned too. I'll talk about that some more inside this edition as well as rave on about the Shotover Canyon Swing that Queenstown.com was invited to partake in last weekend. Parklife @ Remarks

Hello all, and welcome back to the Queenstown.com Weekly after a two week absence. Lots has happened in that time, and I'll be highlighting the additional features of this website from both a user perspective, and an advertising one. On the news front, things that will be discussed are the upcoming elections and the challenges for the position of Queenstown Mayor, as well as projections of increased tourism numbers in the years to come, and lastly, is Central Otago's Wine Industry at risk?

The Remarkables

After spending the weekend in Christchurch and coming back home to Queenstown, interesting observations and comparisons can be made between the two. I'll discuss a few of the observations in this week's edition as well as Arrowtown's continued air pollution issues. Also we talk snow, specifically Mt Hutt, the long distance sister skifield to our local favourites, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. We take a look at the stats and try and find out comes out on top when the three are pitted together?
