Saturday's public open day held at the Queenstown Events Centre for the new aquatic facility Alpine Aqualand is being hailed as a huge success.

The company behind Queenstown's Remarkables Park development has made substantial submissions on the Government's proposed Affordable Housing Bill.

Queenstown's new aquatic centre was officially named today in a joint announcement by Queenstown Lakes District Council and Lakes Leisure Limited.

The community is being encouraged to have a close-up inspection of the new Queenstown Aquatic Centre this weekend," Queenstown Lakes District Council communications manager Meaghan Miller said.
