Queenstown Conscious Aging Weekend Workshop

Saturday 26 July - Sunday 27 July

This unique workshop experience takes participants through a series of explorations, reflections, and exercises, turning the challenges of aging into opportunities for growth.

This transformational Conscious Aging workshop four years in the making will enable you to:

Explore unexamined, self-limiting beliefs, stereotypes and assumptions about aging and make better, more conscious choices about the prevailing worldview on aging.

Develop self-compassion to cope more effectively with change, worry, and stresses associated with aging.

Discover and reflect on what has given heart and meaning to your life and how that informs your intentions for the aging process.

Enhance connection and reduce isolation from others and the web of life by understanding your shared humanity in the aging process.

Reduce fear and increase acceptance in the presence of death and dying for yourself and for your loved ones.

The 2-day programme consists of eight facilitated sessions designed to transform your expectations of aging from self-limitation, lack, isolation and fear towards expansiveness, inclusiveness, wholeness, connection and compassion.

It is based in part on the research and practical outreach conducted by the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), founded in 1973 by Apollo 14 astronaut, Dr. Edgar Mitchell.

Your facilitator for this workshop is local MindBody practitioner and IONS-certified Conscious Aging facilitator, Dr. Howard Christian. Dr Christian brings a wealth of experience and will present cutting edge research that bridges science with a deeper understanding of our place in nature. His simple approach brings the achievement of personal transformation off the mountain top, down from the ivory tower, out of the laboratory, and translated into a practical understanding to meet the real challenges facing us as humans in the 21st century. An intimate workshop experience, you'll be one of only 30 participants.

Hosted at the Heritage Queenstown in the Icon Conference Room, the desired ambience for such an important theme is assured. Within the price of your ticket, you'll receive morning and afternoon tea, and lunch each day at Mackenzie's Restaurant. In addition, you'll receive a 118-page Conscious Aging companion workbook developed over four years and field-tested across a broad range of practitioners and settings. With our other guests, you'll have the opportunity to focus on your inner wisdom, integrate talking points with best practices, sharing in intimate conversation circles, and receiving the collective wisdom of the group.

So what are you waiting for? The third age of life is a great opportunity for emotional, psychological and spiritual growth. It's a time to celebrate your journey, to harvest the wisdom of those experiences, and to share what was meaningful in the company of others.
