Road Comment: Take care and limit your speed. The road above skippers is icy this morning please take care and drive to the conditions. Chains to be carried.

Snow Conditions:

Last Snow Fall: 15 June 2026 3cm

Snow Comment: The snow guns are on and the mountain is quickly turning from brown to white! We are expecting a few cm's from the sky this evening and more cold temps for our snowmaking system. Keep doing those snow dances! It's going to be a beautiful day up here at The Peak!

Weather Conditions:

The snow gun are ON! Conditions on our carpets are firm today beginning to soften as the day progresses.

We are open on the Learners slope for skiing, boarding and sledding.  Please no BYO sleds as the lane is tested for our sleds only and has limited capacity.

Sightseeing will operate on Coronet Express today, potentially subject to wind later this afternoon, offering incredible views of the Southern Alps with a fresh dusting of snow.

Road Comment: Road is chains on ALL VEHICLES from 4km (Windy Point). No 2WD vans or campervans today, sorry. Beware of low visibility on sections of our road, and maintain two-way access. Please note our road is in an alpine environment which can change quickly. All drivers should carry chains and know how to fit them (please see our chain-fitting video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9rKZ_86A4I&t=1s).

Snow Conditions: Stay on trail

Last Snow Fall: 4 July 2026 5cm

Snow Comment: On the busiest days of the season (the NZ School Holidays, weekends and powder days) we run ‘Carpool Priority Days’ (CPDs), where vehicles must have three or more occupants to park in Carparks 1-3. Vehicles with one or two occupants park in Carpark 4 (1.5km from base), from where shuttles run to the base building from 0745. Please note that on CPDs our shuttles are at Carpark 4 so there are no carpark shuttles for Carparks 1-3, so these vehicles should drop the family and gear at the Dropzone (at the base building) before the driver parks the car and walks back up. Please also note that cars from Carpark 4 can not use the Dropzone but shuttles go to the front door of the base building.

Weather Conditions:

The weather arrived and we had 3cm of snow throughout the day with more expected overnight.

We intend to open Curvey Basin tomorrow morning. It will be early season conditions, but it will be great to have it spinning❄️

With it being the NZ School Holidays, Carpool Priority Days start tomorrow and run until Sunday 19/7 - see Whats Happening below for details.

A reminder that all guests must have a current photo on their MyPass. You can do this online or pop into Guests Services before you head to the lifts.

Please check back here after 6:30am for the latest update, we can't wait to see you up here tomorrow😊
