Tandem Paragliding Queenstown

GForce have been flying tandems over Queenstown since 1991, which makes them older than most of what the town now sells as adventure. You ride the Skyline Gondola up Bob's Peak, check in at their desk at the top, and walk a short way uphill to one of three take-off sites. The launch asks something of you: a brief power walk and a few running steps with the wing coming up behind you. You get a full briefing first and it is genuinely simple, but you are an active participant rather than a passenger being strapped in. Once you are off the hill, the pilot asks what kind of flight you want — sit back for the views over the lake, the mountains and the forests, or ask for high-G turns and find out what the wing can do. You land in the heart of Queenstown, not back up the hill. Two things to sort before you go, both of which catch people out. Your Skyline Gondola pass is NOT included — buy it at the Skyline terminal on the day. And check GForce's flight status on their site about half an hour before your slot, BEFORE you buy that gondola ticket: if the conditions are not right they do not fly, and they are firm about it. If you do want to ride back up afterwards, keep your gondola ticket and they will stamp it.
