Queenstown & the Southern Lakes

Told Here

Local stories, shows and useful guides, shared by the people who know Queenstown.

Three ways in

You already publish something

A podcast, a channel, a newsletter. We list each release with your words, your artwork and a link straight to you — and you get a permanent page you never have to maintain.

Nothing to move. Nothing to change.

You want to write, and have nowhere to put it

We publish it here, under your name, on a page built to be found. This is the half we care most about, and it is the half most local publications do not offer.

Still a conversation rather than a form — email us below.

You know something practical

Where to park in winter. Which trail drains fastest after rain. How the buses actually work. Nobody has written most of it down, including us.

Short is fine — two sentences is plenty. You will need an account, because that is what puts your name on it.

Tell us something you know

What we promise

First published work welcome
You do not need a track record, a following, or anything you have written before. Plenty of what is here is somebody's first piece.
You keep it
Your work stays yours. We publish it under a non-exclusive licence, which means you can put it anywhere else, any time, without asking us.
We help edit
Light touch, and never without your sign-off. A byline over words you did not approve is not something we would do.
No writing background required
If you know something about this place that other people would want to know, that is the whole qualification.

And what we never do

  • We never take ownership of your work, and never ask for exclusivity.
  • We never host your audio or video — a show stays on your channel and every link goes there.
  • We never republish a piece somewhere else without asking you first.
  • We never charge a creator. A listing here is free, and it always will be.
  • We pull anything down on request, the same day, no reason needed.

Want in?

If you have something short and practical, there is a form for that above. For anything longer — a piece under your name, or a show you already make — it is still a real conversation with a real person, which is arguably better. Tell us what you would like to make, or send something you have already written.
